KeeRocka's History:
I started showing dogs in high school, and titled my first dog, a Siberian Husky (Tucker Tow Teerocka, no, I didn't name him), in 1985.  After several years of college, I started showing Keeshonden, and learned a great lesson with my first dog.  Just because a breeder shows dogs, it DOESN'T mean they REALLY care about the breed.  They may just love to show, and love the excitement and glory with those wins.  My first Keeshond's FATHER was euthanized (as a very young dog) due to hip dysplasia.  I trusted the breeder and was told he had been xray'd and was clear....and yes, he was from a very well known, successful breeder.  I have remembered that lesson, and feel part of our success with the Rottweilers has been going to lines and breeders who really DO care about the health of their breed.

From 1989-1991 I assisted a professional handler who specialized in working dogs.  In working for Jeri Russel-El Dissi, Storm Kloud Malamutes, I learned the importance of conditioning (and grooming) and began to learn about movement and structure.  KeeRocka, as it is today, was started in 1991 when Jim and I began dating.  I finished my first champion (a Keeshond, Sid) with 4 majors, including the Heart of America Keeshond Club Specialty. Our first homebred champion (a Keeshond) was finished at 9 months with several group placements, and an KCA Select award.  After following and adoring the Rottweiler breed for several years, we purchased our first Rottweiler, who became Ch Wittz Hetzer V Keerocka, in 1992.  We finished his championship, entirely owner handled, and then purchased our foundation bitch, Ch Heartland's Murphy V Ponca, CD, CGC, in the fall of 1995.  And then, there was Taz....who came to us at 7 1/2 weeks, in the summer 1996.  For all of you who want the "pick", Taz was the only puppy left from the litter who DIDN'T have a home:-}

KeeRocka strives to produce a healthy and beautiful working companion.  I feel all the dogs we have bred have the ability to AT LEAST achieve a CDX or an HI, although as many have been specialed, the time has not allowed us to achieve this goal.  All our dogs have been worked with goats and sheep.  We have chosen the younger dogs to compete with.

All of our dogs are house dogs.  KeeRocka dogs do not thrive in kennels, and have a need to be close to their human.  They are easy to live with and we frequently have 5 adults in the living room together, but they have the energy and drive to compete in any and all working venues.  Our dogs have high food drive (like us!) and also high play drive.  Taz and Elvis attained their CD's (with several placements) trained almost entirely with fuzzy toys.  Our dogs are raised with cats, and now horses, and never have any issues with their non-canine companions.

Our dogs temperaments speak for themselves.  They vary from somewhat aloof (Murphy) to obnoxiously outgoing, which is more the "norm" here (Taz).  Many of our dogs, including Taz, are regular visitors to local elementary schools, promoting responsible dog ownership and care.  Feel free to contact anyone who has stayed at our home in regards to the individual temperaments of our dogs.

Although we are no longer breeding Rottweilers, we are in close contact with many reputable breeders across the country who are continuing with our lines.  We are happy to refer you to breeders who are conscious of health, temperament and conformation of a GREAT Rottie.
